Thanks again for all your kind thoughts and good wishes. I think I'm shaking off the flu. Still coughing, but a lot of the other symptoms are clearing up.

RR: I have to agree with you, Sis' Amy, Piper and the others. Seaga a mek nanny goat jump over him simply by stubbornly hanging on despite the mountain of evidence that he needs to move on and become party leader emeritus. He could have it so sweet in the evening of his life with his wife and young child enjoying life together without the stress he must be going through. I can't believe those who love him aren't telling him this. He's like the boxer who stays in the ring too long.
This Observer cartoon is a true depiction of the situation as you describe it:

I think Al Sharpton's question about Howard Dean's cabinet not having any person of colour was simply throwing a racial molotov into the proceedings. I'm not particularly fond of Howard Dean, but there are probably two Black people living in Vermont. And if having blacks in your cabinet was a measure of one's committment to equal rights, George Bush would be MLK and Mandela wrapped into one. Instead he's the biggest detriment to civil rights and the environment of all the presidents I've seen since I've been here. But Sharpton did great for himself. It's all the lapdog media wanted to talk about.

Apparently Bush's daughter as well as the new Canadian PM were recently in Jamaica:

She is among several well-known persons who have vacationed on the quiet in Jamaica in recent weeks, including new Canadian prime minister, Paul Martin, who was in the island over the Christmas holidays, shortly after he replaced Jean Chretien.
