"Another unfortunate incident of immature and irresponsible people producing life without knowing what it takes to nurture it. Sad. For some strange reason, this is not an uncommon occurrence in South Florida"

AE I dont know if I can totally agree with your statement that at 23 she is immature! A lot of mothers today were young mothers our selves. At her age, I was mother, wife, all that, and more. It never occurred to me to harm my daughter. There has to be more to the story and without being judgmental and especially in the NA culture that we have adapted it would be wise that young mothers be embraced into a situation of a village raising a child.

It there were even problems with her and baby daddy...she would not be the first and certainly wont be the last to be in situation like that. Man problem is something that happens at every and any age once man and woman meet. To cite that the child seem to have bond with the visiting father from NY is ludicrous.
Both my children before even saying mama they said da-da. Why, I do not know! I know they saw more of me since I stayed at home for 6 months with one and a year with the other. Yet they called 'DADA" first should I have been offend..., damn, yes I was but I did not react that way. I just saw it as one of those unexplained things. Mom was there to tell me I did the same thing and all the other 'older' women repeated this. The village was there for me. Maybe, just maybe had this young woman had some villagers with her she would not be facing these charges today. Or who to tell, maybe, just maybe she is one of those who did not want the village in her 'ish' and did what she had to do in a fit of stupidity. Whatever the case, a child is dead and she is somehow responsible. Bottom line if a too young girl have a child. An older relative should be partnered with her. If a 23 year old have a child she should now what the game is about. Her act of 'immaturity" is going to cost her the rest of her life. A so life go! Like Malvo ...she got to pay.
