Opposition Leader Edward Seaga to apologise to 'Skeng Don' in bid to have suit withdrawn

Opposition Leader Edward Seaga is to make public apologies to Manchester businessman and People's National Party supporter Kenneth "Skeng Don" Black as part of the withdrawal of a 25-million dollar lawsuit.

Legal teams presenting both sides wrapped up negotiations Tuesday morning.

Attorney for Mr. Black, Bert Samuels told RJR News that the apologies were agreed on as part of a consent judgement.

The apologies will start this Sunday in all media.

Mr. Black, sued the Opposition leader two years ago, claiming that Mr. Seaga made disparaging remarks about him and his company, Black Brothers Limited.

Mr. Black offered to drop the multi-million dollar suit if the Opposition Leader agreed to apologise in the print and electronic media.

It's understood that Mr. Seaga's legal advisors were moving to prevent another court battle following last Thursday's ruling which ordered him to pay three and a half million dollars in damages to former Deputy Commissioner of Police Leslie Harper.
