For those who have or know kids of high school age this is worth looking into.

Promoting the involvement of young people in the civic life of their country is one of President Kennedy's most important legacies and the mission of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation. We encourage high school students to participate in the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest, to write a compelling essay on the meaning of political courage, and to learn about and be inspired by America's elected officials, past or present, who have tried to make a difference in the world.

The winning essayists receive awards totaling $6,500. We look forward to receiving your essay by the deadline of January 10, 2004. Good luck!
