YG: are you saying that there should be two sets of law? One for the 'rich'/or famous and one for the poor man walking down the road smoking a splif or the farmer "trying a thing" and plant some 'sensi' in between his field of corns?
This is not a case of should or should not weed be legal. Until it is not a criminal matter all persons are equal under the law.
RC I hear you and tho there might be issues with the police in that area or pick any where in NA how they profile minorities. I will sit this 'bandwagon" out. Why? We often time because we know how we are treated get all riled up when stuff happens. But give the devil (cops) their due they are humans and they too have their fears. Had any one of us seen this man passing us and him being under daze of his drug? Would you not be afraid and reacted?
A case in point a few years ago here in Toronto. A Jamaican (woman) visitor was arrested down town in a known drug area by police. She screamed bloody murder and that she was striped searched. OHHHHHH, the community rallied behind her and I said no! 1) Why would you a
"VISITOR"
be on the road unaccompanied at that time of night? 2) What are you a Visitor doing in this known drug/prostitution area at this time of night?
Sure she like all of us have our right to go wherever and whatever time we choose but Why the and why that time? I think the case died a quiet death but not after my tax paying dollar had to bring her back to Canada for trial. And maybe my bias was based on the fact that the character was/is a known political activist (orange tie head) and known to me but I knew a tuna story when I smell one.
In Mr. Jones case thought unfortunate that he has lost his life. The gentle giant who would not harm a fly flew the coocoos nest.
