YG: Seaga has already proven himself that he can't win elections on the national level. If he feels the JLP has better ideas and will implement policies that will uplift Jamaica, then he should ring his bell in a tone bidding a fond farewell as leader of the JLP. This would be him doing what's best for the good of the country. He would leave as more of a statesman than if he hangs on until tags are on his toes. Apparently most people believe PJ will be leaving in 'o4, latest '05. If I had my druthers, they'd both walk hand-in-hand off into the political sunset so that new blood and new ideas can flourish.

'Anti-gay' singer cancels gigs
Steven Morris
Monday December 8, 2003
The Guardian
Gay rights activists claimed victory yesterday after a reggae star who is accused of singing songs advocating violence against homosexuals cancelled gigs in London and Birmingham.
Campaigners had called on the police to
arrest Bounty Killer
- real name Rodney Price - for allegedly inciting violence against gay people.
Scotland Yard officers had planned to speak to Price before the events at the White Pearl Club, Birmingham, on Friday night and the Rex in Stratford, east London, on Saturday night, but the gigs were cancelled at short notice. Peter Tatchell, of the gay rights group OutRage!, said: "The cancellation of his concerts is a victory over homophobia in pop music. Our aim is to make Britain a no-go area for singers who incite violence against gay people and other minorities.
"We hope this victory will encourage people in other countries to campaign for the cancellation of this singer's concerts. Hit them in the pocket, where it hurts financially."
But Sheldon Atkinson, events manager at the Rex club, insisted the gigs had been cancelled simply because Price had missed his flight from Jamaica and they were trying to reschedule.
Police said they had planned to ask Price to "keep his lyrical content down" but had had no plans to arrest the singer.
In recent months both the attorney general, Lord Goldsmith, and former solicitor general Lord Falconer have suggested it might be possible for singers whose lyrics appear to be homophobic to be prosecuted.
Last year Mr Tatchell was set upon by angry reggae fans after he demonstrated against the lyrics of three singers nominated for Music of Black Origin awards: Capelton, Elephant Man, and TOK.
