This means that, as a voting bloc, we could decide an election, thus leaving the residents out in the cold if their needs differ from ours.

Why are we so afraid of our own people? Why isn't that an issue with the Israelis, Iraqis and all the others who are allowed to vote overseas? I daresay who's looking out for the Jamaicans at home? Their needs can't possibly be more ignored than they have been for all these years! PNP or JLP, I think those abroad have a lot to contribute. I don't believe any other immigrant group is more devoted to those back home than we are. True, the money we send home isn't directly to the govt. But it sure as heck is helping to prop up the economy.

: I'm not optimistic about the Haitian situation at all. First off, he's a supporter of Aristide so Bush and Condi will be on his back like picharie and he'll be undermined if he doesn't dance to their music. And Haiti will soon be back to square one. It's a very sad case.
