The party leader is not recognized in the constitution. It is a judgment call by the GG who he wants to select to be PM and he does not have to defer to the wishes of the delegates in exercising his judgment. From everything I have read about this PNP election, one man has the support of most of the PNP MPs and it seems that the lady could get most of the delegate vote. But the GG is duty bound to look to the support of MPs in deciding who should be PM.

Now, I have to agree that the GG would be inviting bangarang should he do that, but I don't see why he should not use his best judgment if the situation presents itself. If he does not I see other problems down the road.
