In today's Sunday Gleaner, DK Duncan addressed the question of where Dr. Davies' campaign contributions are coming from :

"He says there is a short list of sources from which the campaign solicits funds, and this is monitored by a finance committee. This cash, he said, comes from people who are known to have money.

"Although you do not necessarily run a due diligence or a criminal police check on everybody, it is generally known that some people have a reputation of being within the law," he stated."

Now what the hell does that mean ???

Oh by the way Piper, I forgot to tell you of another drama at the Gleaner site. There was one member who began to solicit contributions from board members for a fundraising venture he had dreamed up to benefit "Jamaica" in some way that I cannot remember. Given that everyone here collectively has sent enormous sums home in one way or another we were not sure what this was about now. Anyway, cash was to be sent directly to him, one dollar bills as I recall.

His name was......."Anonymous". :rollin

Almost forgot your question re the book: all I can say is that it is based on certain aspects of Jamaican history and will hopefully appeal to Jamaicans both at home and in the diaspora. Of course you and all members of MTU will get a complementary signed copy for helping me to keep my sanity and sense of humour all these years...I guess my cover will be blown at that point !
