RC: For the life of me I can't understand why everybody's Fruit of the Looms are in a twist over Hillary's remark, including yours based on the venue where she used it! First off, my understanding is she has used that remark on CNN previously. But apparently since Al Sharpton wasn't there it went unnoticed.

But the real hypocrites are the media and all those who did not say a peep when Newt Gingrich, Robert Novak and other right-wingers used the term in referring to the Democrats. It is truly amazing how the corporate-controlled media works. It is sad to watch the death of journalism in America.

A sampling:

After all, nothing upsets Sen. Kennedy and his pals more than when those they view as intellectual slaves dares to leave the Democratic plantation.
============================================
Democrats are rubbing their eyes in disbelief not just at President Bush's success across America, but also about the fact that a major group they thought would stay on the liberal plantation forever is making a getaway. As they escape out the back door, members of this group are saying "hasta la vista, baby."

I clearly fascinate them, Gingrich said of the Democrats. Im much more intense, much more persistent, much more willing to take risks to get it done. Since they think it is their job to run the plantation, it shocks them that Im actually willing to lead the slave rebellion. [Washington Post, 10/20/94]

Sen. Barack Obama and other black Democrats are defending Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's description of the House of Representatives as a "plantation." First lady Laura Bush says Clinton's remark was "ridiculous."

Clinton, D-N.Y., a potential presidential candidate for 2008, did not retreat from the "plantation" remark, telling reporters the term accurately describes the "top-down" way the GOP runs Congress.

Obama said Wednesday he felt her choice of words referred to a "consolidation of power" in Washington that squeezes out the voters.

One one coco full basket.
