Yardy, I too have a son who has not lived up to my hopes, dreams, and aspirations for him, although I can't say he is about to go off the deep end. But we have to examine the problem carefully because I believe that what you will see at the bottom of it is a society of stark injustices and egregious social and economic inequities.

I do not accept that any black kid has good reason to go down the wrong road, especially where they have had good parents like you and me. But I accept the reality that there are many ills in America that still cry out for action from those above and impressionable minds don't always deal with this uniformly.

The hypocrisy of which I mentioned before was meant to be a commentary on the kind of vitriol been spewed by mostly whites (and some uncle toms) on the airwaves in Houston. Whilst they hperventilated about what should happen to Mr. Williams, not a single one mentioned the continued injustice of the Thomas De La Beckwiths who are still running free after all the murders they commited.
