SisWHY: I'd visit Ghana because it is believed most enslaved Jamaicans came from there. But that's it. Me naw go live deh! Just like the maroons of Jamaica who sold the rest of black Jamaicans down the river, including killing and chopping off ears to show how many they killed to get their blood money, I'd like to hear a heartfelt apology from present-day Ghanaians for what their ancestors did. Mek dem gwey! This hope for a "reunion" is all about money!

Like any family reunion, this one is layered with joy and tears. For African-Americans and others in the African diaspora, there is lingering hostility and confusion about the role Africans played in the slave trade.

"The myth was our African ancestors were out on a walk one day and some bad white dude threw a net over them," Mr. Gates said. "But that wasn't the way it happened. It wouldn't have been possible without the help of Africans."

Don't be surprised if ackee is banned again in the US. Greed and stupidity will be the culprit. How can anyone even think of forcing ackees open?!
