RC and AE take good care.

I went to JA to visit my mom and get some R&R. It was bittersweet. Whereas I was glad to be home to see her, I really missed my Dad. He was always in the kitchen cooking something. So when I reached home from the airport and the kitchen nuh smell a nutten, God know my chest just get tight. Oh lawd.

Anyway, despite this, all went well. Wilma drenched the island with rain, and we just stayed home and cook, eat and chat. But lo and behold the sun came out on Thursday and we just headed for the beach. It was a good visit, but definitely not the same without my Big Man. So I am now back, but feeling sort of down, because is almost one year now since he passed so mi just basically deh yah ah wait fi dis year come and gone.

I had the (dis)pleasure of listening to PJ address the nation pon TV. kiss teet. He mentioned the issue of crime in a "by the way" fashion. Told the nation that he is a daddy and grand-daddy so he empathises with the loss of life blah blah. I was asking the TV if any of him pickney dem did gun down. And then he went on a big PR spin for the govt, about what drug shipments were intercepted, blah blah blah. And den him so boring pon tap of it all.
Bruce Golding came on TV as well and was making uncesssary political attacks from the effects of the storm. Just seemed to be grasping on any straw to get ahead of the game it seems. He needs to do better than that. I am sick of the whole of them.

As an aside, we are here everyday killing up ourselves at MTU about the crime rate, and my impression is that unless crime is directly affecting a community nobody is talking about it. And then you have people like my mother who will lament about the state of criminal activity, but when I tell her that PJ needs to step aside, she tell me fi lef har PM alone :lol

Sis Dine, to tell you di truth I don't know much about school systems in the US. Since I don't have any kids, I am ignorant in this regard.
What I can tell you is that Snellville is mostly white and with an above average income per household. I know for a fact that because of this, your sister will not find a shortage of good schools there: If this of any help here is a list of the public schools. The private ones aren't listed.www.ajc.com/metro/content/gen/schoolguide/gwinnett_county_pub_middle.html
I know that Shiloh has a good reputation.

Sis Dine, I just remembered that I have a friend who is in some sort of admin position at a school in Fulton County. Snellville is in Gwinnett County though. Let me know if you have specific concerns, otherwise I will find out from her what I can.
