The criminals have apparently declared war on the police.
What do you have to say about this, Mr. Golding? Oh, excuse me! The Klansmen are PNP so you won't have to
be up in the face of the police defending these crims.

Gunmen attacking police in Spanish Town following killing of Bulby

Gunmen in Spanish Town on Sunday night launched an all out attack on the police in the area following the fatal shooting of Klansman gang leader 43-year-old Donovan Bulby Bennett.

Gunmen armed with high powered weapons literally shut down the area as beleaguered police personnel appealed to persons not to travel on the Spanish Town by-pass or through the town.

The Spanish Town Police confirmed late Sunday night that the area was in turmoil as the gunmen all but took over the old capital.

Raging gunmen went on a rampage, attacking the Spanish Town Police Station which was clearly ill-equipped to deal with the onslaught.

Minutes before 11, they sprayed the station with bullets, forcing police personnel to retreat.

Two policemen were also shot and injured in another section of the community.

One of the policemen was travelling in a patrol car on the Spanish Bypass near the Jose Marti School when he was attacked.

Members of the Spanish Town Special Squad went to assist the injured policeman when they were fired on.

That was when the other policeman was hit.

The conditions of the two policemen are not considered serious.

It's understood that men posing as police were stopping vehicles and when they failed to do so they were fired on.

In another incident, a police vehicle was shot up by gunmen in the volatile March Pen Road area of Spanish Town Sunday evening.

It's reported that a policeman, attached to the Port Maria Police Station in St. Mary was making his way to Clarendon, when shots were rained on the vehicle he was driving.

However, he escaped unhurt.

Senior investigators say they believe the attacks were in retaliation against the killing of Bulby.

The gangster was killed reportedly by police personnel from Kingfish, during an operation in Rock River, Clarendon early Sunday.

And motorists are still being urged to avoid the Spanish Town Area.

RJR News understands that fires have been lit on Young Street and on Brunswick Avenue.

Debris is also blazing on the Spanish Town Bypass.

Motorists should not attempt to travel through the Greendale area, where barb wires have been placed in the road trapping unsuspecting motorists.
